Palestrina
Already occupied in the 7th century B.C. Known to the Romans as Praeneste. They built a vast temple to Fortuna here, part of which is still standing. In the 16th century, home of the composer Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, whose work has often been seen as the culmination of Renaissance polyphony. Today, home to about 18,000 souls.
